What is Halyot?

Re-starting life after a war is not easy for anyone, and especially hard for children. To help, we are coming together and working on providing the children of Tigray with basic needs, starting with one cooked meal a day. We have organized volunteers in Tigray to cook and hand out meals to children every morning before school. We are currently in need of sponsors that can commit to a monthly donation to assist with the daily meals. It costs $15 USD per month to feed 1 child.

How did we get here?

From November 2020 - November 2022, there was a tragic war in Tigray. This two year long war took the lives of many, and permanently displaced many more. Those who survived the war have lost nearly everything and are left with very little resources to restart their lives. Through all of this, the children of the region that have gone through this traumatic experience are now struggling to meet their basic needs. Their parents have been killed, permanently disabled, or displaced during the war. Nevertheless, the children of Tigray are eager to go to school in an attempt to continue their education. However, they are doing so with empty stomachs. This is where Halyot comes in to help.
